However, traditional methodology does not include blending as a pit optimization parameter despite the fact that there are many open pit mines, especially gold mines, that use blending for processing materials. Pysight is an algorithm that allows determining the optimal pit by approximation through the generation of pits for scenarios based on the combination of cut-off grades by materials. The selected option increased NPV by 18.5% over the traditional method and a potential decrease in the need for leach pad and waste dump (-14.7% and -3.3% respectively) suggesting a lower carbon footprint option. Additionally, profits per ounce of gold produced increased by 4.5%. The algorithm facilitated the generation of 108 cases (optimal pits) in an automated way that allowed determining the option that complies with the blending and generates the best value for the project.
