MINERÍA la mejor puerta de acceso al sector minero MINERÍA / MAYO 2023 / EDICIÓN 548 67 Abstract In today's day-to-day mining operation, it is critical to implement and comply with the necessary geotechnical controls in order to achieve the mining business objective. This technical paper presents the methodology and application of three-dimensional models, generated from photogrammetric processes obtained by drones for geotechnical reconciliation and geological-structural mapping in an open pit mine in Chile. The analysis consists of evaluating the design and condition factors, quantifying them within a compliance range of 0 to 1 (100%), obtaining a final result that, adequate to the requirements previously stipulated by the mining company's acceptability criteria, allows validating, modifying and optimizing the current operational practices. Implementing UAV technologies for the mining industry has been a breakthrough in the optimization of different processes, including the one detailed in this paper. This makes it possible to comply with the mining design and even to be more aggressive in the proposed schemes in depth, estimating lower costs in the operation. Currently, technological advances allow us to go a step further in the optimization of this process, incorporating virtual reality (VR), associated with the metaverse. This technology makes it possible to generate a cross between photogrammetric surveys (drone) and virtual reality, causing immersion in the 3D model, i.e., the operator can be present on the ground even if he/ she is geographically in another part of the world and thus visualize it in high definition through the use of virtual reality glasses. cumplimiento al diseño minero e incluso lograr ser más agresivos en los esquemas propuestos en profundidad, estimando disminuir costos en la operación.
