MINERÍA la mejor puerta de acceso al sector minero EDICIÓN 570 / MARZO 2025 40 Geoingeniería Abstract Preconditioning or desstress blasting is used as a strategic technique to reduce the strainburst risk in underground excavations. Its goal is to modify the properties of the rock mass, creating an interface or screen that decreases the incidence of stresses around the target excavation. The energy released during the deformation process is related to the work done to deform the rock mass. This total work consists of elastic work, which is dissipated in deforming the rock mass, and plastic work, which is associated with the energy released during the process. Estimating plastic work allows for the evaluation of how effectively this strategic response mechanism can reduce the risk of self-induced strainburst. This is done by modifying the stress reduction coefficient (ß), the fragmentation factor (α), and assessing design parameters MODELAMIENTO NUMÉRICO PARA EVALUAR EL RENDIMIENTO DE LA VOLADURA DE LIBERACIÓN DE ESFUERZOS EN EXCAVACIONES CON RIESGO DE STRAINBURST
