Abstract

Regulus Resources Inc.'s Antakori project is located 53 km northwest of the city of Cajamarca in the Hualgayoc mining district and is part of the Miocene Cu-Au-Ag deposits basin of northern Peru. It has an indicated resource of 250 Mt with 0.48% Cu, 0.29 g/t Au and 7.5 g/t Ag and an inferred resource of 267 Mt with 0.41% Cu, 0.26 g/t Au and 7.8 g/t Ag (Eggleston et al., 2019). 

The geology consists of a Cretaceous basement of sedimentary rocks (Farrat, Inca and Chulec formations) intruded by several porphyry dikes that generate alteration and skarn-type mineralization with Cu-Au-Ag mineralization and massive sulfide bodies. Subsequently, a porphyry type system associated with quartz-feldspar-(biotite) porphyry dikes and breccia bodies with Cu-Au-Ag-(Mo) mineralization is developed. 

Miocene volcanic rocks are deposited on the sedimentary sequences, originated from the Tantahuatay volcanic center, intruded by subvolcanic dikes/stocks, both affected by a strong advanced argillic alteration with high sulfidation epithermal mineralization of pyrite-enargite with Cu-Au-Ag-As-Sb. An intermediate sulfidation epithermal system with Carbonate-Base Metal type mineralization of Au-Ag-Pb-Zn-Cu, associated to dikes of hornblende porphyry constitutes the last mineralization event in the Antakori project.
