This study presents a kinematic model of the MFTB based on a 67.9 km long restored cross-section along the Antamina-Llata transect. Through the integration of field data, a new geological map, and apatite (U-Th)/He dating, the study identifies a tectonic framework characterized by the interaction between thin-skinned and thick-skinned deformation styles. This study highlights the importance of kinematic modeling of the Antamina-Llata cross-section, reconstructing the tectonic history of the MFTB and providing new insights into the evolution of the Peruvian Andes. The Chonta Fault plays a key role in the uplift of the basement and the formation of the imbricate fan shortcut of Antamina. The calculated shortening along the section is approximately 28.4%.
