Abstract

Compania Minera Poderosa has the category of "driving company", i.e., it is characterized by its ability to attract and its multiplier effects when mobilizing a wide group of companies related to its productive chain (PRODUCE, 2013), which are mostly local companies that develop over time, manage to consolidate and begin to have what we call business success; this translates into a fairly important level of profits.

Compania Minera Poderosa believes that business success must go hand in hand with Social Progress in the areas of influence of its operations that also become the area of influence of its suppliers. Compania Minera Poderosa saw an opportunity to generate value when noticing the scarce participation of its supplier companies in the promotion of sustainable development. Therefore, it developed this project with the objective of motivating them to incorporate Social Responsibility practices, both to suppliers of goods, services and including artisanal mining entrepreneurs in process of formalization, who deliver ore to be processed at our plants and have contracts to operate in our concessions.
